Mother’s Day Gifts That Suit Her Love Language

Mother’s Day Gifts That Suit Her Love Language

by Susan Neuhalfen

Author Gary Chapman wrote an amazing book called The 5 Love Languages®. Do you know Mom’s love language? Read through and see which one would best describe your mother. The explanation for each language is listed in this article along with Mother’s Day gift ideas that suit Mom’s love language.

Words of Affirmation:
Verbal compliments that express your love and appreciation
Mom doesn’t hear thank you enough, so why not put it into words? Take the time to create a card, poem or picture depicting your sentiment for her selflessness.

Acts of Service:
Any act that eases the burden of responsibility
The kids can all pitch in and work on a meal and clean up, leaving mom to relax and enjoy her day.

Quality Time:
Focused and undivided attention spent together
This is by far the most popular gift. Most moms just want to spend time with their families, uninterrupted by phones, iPads or video games. Put together a picnic lunch and take her to a park or on some kind of outing. Go to a restaurant where everyone is comfortable – nothing stuffy or overpriced.

Giving Gifts:
Tangible symbols that reflect your thoughtfulness and effort
Okay, now we’re talking. After consulting with a few boutiques in the area, here are some of the top Mother’s Day ideas:
Sheila Fajl “Everybody’s Favorite Hoop” featherweight earrings. They come in 3 different sizes and 4 colors — gold, silver, rose gold and gunmetal. Also, look at anything from the Kendra Scott Spring collection at Palm Tree Boutique
Pajamas – something super soft and comfortable. They have tanks with shorts or capris as well as chemise gowns at Envy Boutique.
Johnny Was® tops with beautiful stitching and high quality material is both feminine and chic at JT Clothiers.

Physical Touch:
A non-sexual touch that reinforces your presence (hugging, handholding, massage)
Dr. Bradley Axline: Everything a girl could need for her body including coolsculpting, Botox®, Juvederm®, Kybella®, Voluma®. These services are all performed by a Registered Nurse who is a Certified Cosmetic Skincare and Injection Specialist.
Cloud 9: A mani-pedi with a glass of wine is always fabulous, but you can get the works at Cloud 9. There is a full spa upstairs with massage, facials and more. Of course, there are also several stylists on hand.
The MedSpa of Flower Mound: Special Mother’s Day package For every $100 spent get $20 spa credit. All Obagi® products are 20% off and come with a free gorgeous product bag with purchase of $125 or more. New Cool IPL for $150 each or package of three for $299.
Mod Facial Spa: this new open concept style brings a “happy hour” feel to getting your facial. Facials are fun and affordable in a friendly environment. There are privacy rooms for those who desire them – just make a reservation.

Whatever her love language, make sure to ask Mom exactly what she wants. Chances are, she really wants some family time and just to know that you love her. These are just some ways to show her just how much you appreciate what she does for you, unconditionally, every day.
