New Year New Hope

“Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.”
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

As we all settle into our routines after a busy holiday season with family, festive celebrations and exciting vacations, it is a fine feeling as we bring 2017 into focus.

Everyone that we talk to is excited about what this new year brings.  The hope for a progress in our homes, schools, communities, strong job and business growth accompanied with optimistic economic projections on a national level, give us an amazing new hope!

Just as we look outwardly into our community, jobs and businesses, we naturally turn inwardly.  Some of us are setting new year’s resolutions and many of us are looking to gradually strengthen and improve. Fitness, good health and nutrition, along with strengthened personal relationships seem are at the top of our lists.  New futures are decided every single day.  Our high school and college seniors are looking ahead to their bright futures and making important decisions on new schools, trades and jobs.  Retirements are being planned and new opportunities are considered daily.  We are so blessed to live in Lake Cities, our great state of Texas and the USA!

As I move throughout the Lake Cities community, I sense an energy of new things to come. When we stop to think how far our community has come in just one full year, it is amazing.  (I don’t know if you remember all of the orange pylons endlessly scattered along Swisher Road, but I do.) We enjoy open thoroughfares that give clear access to local businesses and improve our daily lives with time savings. While Lake Dallas is anxiously awaiting the completion of their roadway improvements, they will soon get to experience the same progress as the residents of Corinth and Hickory Creek.

Across our community, land is being cleared, construction crews are assembling and we see lots of exciting developments being planned for us.  We are blessed to have strong city, school and clergy leadership that are the backbone of Lake Cities.  New mayors, city managers and police chiefs are being sworn in and teachers are refreshed as they embark on educating our youth for bright and promising futures.  Inside each one of us are hopes and plans as we face a new year.  We wish you the best as you embark on the excitement in your daily lives.

Lake Cites, welcome to 2017!  Welcome to a new year of new hope!
