Painting The World Beautiful

Maithen Elizabeth Fluhrer is on one knee next to a cute-as-a-button 7-year-old boy as he shows off his latest snow globe drawing. The boy has never met a real artist, and he’s grinning from ear to ear as she praises him for his choice of colors. “You did such a great job!” she exclaims. Maithen dropped everything to make that little boy feel like the most important artist in the room on a day when most people were there to view her paintings. It’s that positive outlook on life, the willingness to encourage a younger generation, and desire to paint the world beautiful that has endeared her to residents and business owners near and far through her company, Custom Art By Maithen Elizabeth.

“If you have a chance to spread a little extra sunshine, then you should do it,” Maithen said. Maithen is a third-generation, self-taught artist who enjoys creating custom artwork such as abstract art, commercial art, logos, children’s paintings, murals, geode artwork, sports art, and more. Whether you need logo artwork for your coffee shop or a cartoon mural for your daughter’s bedroom, Maithen can paint it. Many of those pieces are on display in the Lake Cities area, Lantana, Lewisville, and surrounding communities. “My calling in life is to make people happy with art,” Maithen said. “Sometimes, my clients know exactly what they want. Other times, they have no idea – all they know is they want to fill a space. My goal is to adapt to each client’s situation.”
