Partnering with Parents for a Great Start to School

Partnering with Parents for a Great Start to School

At Footprints Preschool, you will hear children laughing, kids counting, friends singing and teachers reading. Parents looking for a preschool want the balance of fun, social skills and academics. The preschool at the Lake Cities United Methodist Church offers all of this and the spiritual development that can only be found in a loving Christian environment.

“The Lake Cities area is a great place to grow a family,” said Senior Pastor Rene Lawson. “Footprints is an important ministry and we take a lot of pride in it.”

Footprints Preschool has been in the area for over 20 years, preparing kids ages 2 years – Pre-K for Kindergarten. They teach reading, writing, science, Spanish, cooking and more in a very safe, caring and fun environment.

Footprints’ goal is for the children to have a positive early childhood school experience and gain a love of learning.

In addition to academics, there are role-play activities, teaching kids the best way to handle situations in a God-like way. It’s a hands-on learning environment where they learn to write their names in shaving cream or create with glitter. Things get messy, but that’s just part of learning.

Most importantly, everything at the school is layered for accountability.  The school is overseen by a Board of Directors and is licensed by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services with multiple on site inspections. With parents’ busy schedules, it’s nice to know there is a safe, educational environment available to them, located next to Lake Dallas Elementary.

“We want parents to know we are here to partner with them and help prepare their kids for elementary school both socially and academically,” said Bry Kenney, director.  “We provide children with a fun environment and positive experience to help them learn and grow.”
